RACE & COURSE INFO
The race route is a flat and fast course that is perfect for runners of all levels of ability. As the Cool-Down Race for the Marathon, the race is scheduled at the right time for you to get back on the pavement and ease into your race running routine.
It all starts by you taking the step and committing to making a difference for EMS heroes who gave their life serving their country.

No Duplication of Awards
With the exception of a course record prize and the prizes for the first male and female to reach the one mile mark, there will be no duplication of awards. The top three male and female winners, first place masters male and female winners, are not eligible for age group awards.
Refreshments
After the race, be sure to replace the fuel you burned with a wide variety of complimentary refreshments. Typical refreshments usually include; bagels, watermelon, apples, oranges, bananas', cookies, and more. Liquid refreshments usually include; water, Powerade, pop, lemonade, ice tea and more.
Door Prizes
As a participant of the TAKE A STEP FOR YOU HEROES 5K Run/Walk you are eligible for one of the many door prizes that will be given out during the post race activities. You must be present to win any of the door prizes.
Race Packet / Goodies
Racers can pick up their packet at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Mall outside of Dick's Sporting Goods near the Steeler Store. To expedite the race, participants are encouraged to pick up their packets prior to race-day.

RACE DISCLAIMER
I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter unless I am medically able and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry to participate in the Take a Step 5K Run/Walk. I will not hold the Race Organizers, steering committee, sponsors, other race entrants liable for injury or death while participating in the race.
